Research Interest My research contributes to anti-malarial efforts by investigating molecular mechanisms for increasing drug availability within the Artemisia annua plant, the sole source of artemisinin and other anti-malarial derivatives. I am focused on characterising the interactions between important redox enzymes in the final steps of the artemisinin pathway. I will make strides in artemisinin metabolic engineering by determining what enzymes are the best targets for increasing its availability within the plant
